Kimo Theater, 423 Central Ave SW

A collection of short stories surrounding peculiar happenings in a unique southwest town. Something, or someone, is arriving soon and the precursor events have already started. Time and space seem to be unhinged, causing unpredictable circumstances. Strange disappearances have occurred, there have been reports of random teleportation, there is the possibility of super human abilities, and even children who may not actually be children at all. These stories are about the people of this town and their individual experiences during this strange metaphysical, supernatural event. Presented by IFDM Cohort 7.

Cinematic Arts Sunday Night Movie

Paul Thomas Anderson’s least watched film since Hard Eight (1997) is his most underrated: a melancholy detective story set in the beachside communities of Los Angeles in 1970, adapted from the novel by Thomas Pynchon.

Cinematic Arts Sunday Night Movie

Based on a novella by Stefan Zweig (the Austrian novelist who inspired Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel), Letter from an Unknown Woman is widely regarded as one of the most elegant and heartbreaking movies ever made about unrequited love.
