Filmed partially in the Bisti Badlands/De-Na-Zin Wilderness Area of New Mexico and included in Quentin Tarantino’s picks for Sight & Sound’s once-a-decade “Greatest Films of All Time” poll, Sorcerer is a masterpiece among big-screen entertainments of the 1970s, a tense, globe-trotting “existential thriller” full of gorgeous cinematography and featuring one of Tangerine Dream’s most memorable scores.
